Fooling the Fool: It's April Fools!

For the ones who love to play practical jokes then get ready because your favorite holiday is just around the corner. April Fools day will be here April 1^st that's a Thursday so mark it on your calendar.

No one knows for sure how April Fools day came to be. The most popular theory is the French, changed their calendar dating back in the 1500's so that the New Year would begin in January to match the Roman calendar, instead of having the start of spring in late March or early April. However the news of the change traveled slowly in other rural areas and many country dwellers continued to celebrate the New Year in spring, so these people became known as "April Fools".

Every year it's the same, people scheming and planning that genius well planned trick that's just rolled up a sleeve and ready to jump out at the most gullible person. The question is: What is the best April Fools day joke? For the pranksters this may be fun, but for the gullible it could be a day of treachery.

"I'm not a fan of April Fools, personally I just think it's a waste of time," said SCC student, Jessica Lalonde.

Here are just a few gags and pranks to celebrate your April Fools day traditions. Sibling rivalry is always on the list, if you really want to get your siblings back for whatever reason, here are a couple ideas to really get them on a rampage.

1. Leave them Hanging

When your brother or sister gets in the shower on April Fools day morning, sneak into the bathroom and grab hide the towels, it will be funny to see how they work their way out of that one.

2. Salty Surprise

You can guess by the title what this one entails. Put salt on your brother/sister's toothbrush before they get ready in the morning, that will really be a refreshing way to start off the morning of April Fools!

"I love April Fools day," said SCC student, Eliza Willey. "I play jokes on people all the time so it's just another ordinary day for me."

So some really like Aprils Fools day, and others, not so much. So be on the look out because it's right around the corner. Also, be thinking and plan ahead, so if you get fooled you can get someone back too.
