The Show-Me Transfer Fair, held Wednesday in the College Center, was an informative event providing SCC students and local high school students the opportunity to learn more about their educational pursuits. More than 25 schools were represented and provided valuable information and handouts to students. In addition, a Money Talk Workshop was held by presenters Matt Newlin of UMSL, and Johanna Sengheiser of Webster University.

The Money Talk Workshop was an informal presentation on the overview of the financial aspect of the transfer process. Presenters Matt and Johanna were able to provide useful information about filling out a FAFSA form, available federal grants, scholarships, and loans. They were also eager to answer any questions about the transfer process and both firmly stressed the importance of completing all paper work early in order to be awarded the most money for one's schooling. One student, Ryan Smith, who found the event very useful stated, "I have now narrowed my choices in colleges down to three or four."

He was also pleasantly surprised by all the scholarship and loan opportunities he is now aware of because of the Money Talk Workshop. Overall, the event was filled with promising students who were simply seeking more information about Missouri colleges and the degrees they offer.
